Review of the Golden Nugget Antique Flea Market in Lambertville New Jersey
After a year of reviewing fun souvenirs, we are finally getting to our first flea market review.
I love a good flea market– especially one that lets me get out of New York City for the day. The Golden Nugget Flea Market in Lambertville, New Jersey is only an hour and half drive from New York City, but a world apart.
- Unlike New York’s flea markets, which can be elbow to elbow with traffic, the Golden Nugget flea is blissfully uncrowded.
- The Golden Nugget Flea market is open Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays (all year).
- Golden Nugget’s vendors are pleasant and chatty.
- Prices at the Golden Nugget flea are very fair (though you can always do some bargaining).
- The size of the Golden Nugget market is large enough to while away a few hours without running out of new things to see, but not so enormous that you are exhausted by the time you’re done.
- When you’re done shopping the flea, you can head over to the town of Lambertville and stroll its antique and artsy shops or bike the tow path by the canal– read about it here.

Even if you didn’t grow up with these toys, it will make you nostalgic for a simpler era, where real working ovens and rusty trucks were in every four-year-old’s toy box.
Natural Flea Market Finds– and a Pair of Dutch Shoes
The rock vendor had a huge assortment of fossils and geodes to browse through. When I asked him why there was a pair of tiny pair of dutch wooden shoes next to his fossils, he simply shrugged.

I agree with Lindsay, I generally don't like buying a ton of *things*, but things from flea markets somehow don't count in my mind! Maybe because they were someone else's things :) They're always fun to browse through in new cities. I love the idea of those bottles as a DIY project!!

Whoa, I can't believe how close this is to NYC! It's funny, I generally don't like accumulating *things* or shopping in general, but I can totally get into flea markets. I love seeing all the kitschy oddities! (except maybe not the creepy dolls, I think I could do without those! ;)

This is definitely a quality flea market-- it's great for inspiration even if you walk away with nothing.

Kristin this flea market looks far more interesting than a lot I have been to. Can you imagine the stories attached to each of those keys?

I know, I am not one who loves every flea market, I am very picky, I want lots of fun stuff to look at, finding the one hidden gem in a pile of junk is so not worth it. There were so many cool things there it was making me wish I was more craftsy!

Hi there, How funny. I go there all the time. My parents have a cottage in Bucks County and I stop by every time I am in the USA!

Bucks is great! Lived right outside Philly briefly so spent some time there on weekends. It really is the perfect size flea-- I get overwhelmed by enormous ones, bigger isn't always better. Love the little shops in town too, posting about those next!
